Clarke Roberts has been instructed by a leading firm of Chartered Accountants based in Cheshire who are looking to recruit an experienced accountant to join their successful and growing practice.
Key to this appointment is previous experience of dealing with an agricultural client base that includes farm accounts with a minimum of 3 years experience required. Opportunities exist at either senior or manager level and duties will include:
• Small farming operations;
• Reconciling incomplete accounts; the 'box of receipts' clients;
• An understanding of the practical difficulties faced by farmers on a day to day, month to month and season to season basis;
• Communicating well with people from many different backgrounds;
• An understanding of agricultural terminology;
• Handling a large, complicated and demanding client portfolio;
• The full spectrum of accountancy work - audit, accounts and tax;
• Advising clients on planning for the future - not simply just preparing past accounts, but also how, for example, to minimise tax liabilities.
Agriculture work is a niche but very important area of many firms in rural locations and candidates will be able to find themselves amongst the most valued members of a practice, in a varied and highly rewarding field.
Applicants should be ACA/ACCA qualified with experience of advising an agricultural client base, specifically on farm accounts.
Opportunities exist at either senior or manager level with excellent long term prospects.
